RAPID LINK is a part of the Global HR Alliance executive search companies. Attracting great talent is what we burn for. You can sit the collar on top of that upper ledge in this situation.Your company is only as great as are people working in it. The top ledge on the cam is not strictly necessary as the toolholder does not try to ride up on being clamped, however it is handy for situations where the knurled adjusting collar would otherwise need to disappear into the top of the toolholder to bring a low tool to centre height. The cylindrical part of the plunger is 29.25 dia, the height overall of the plunger/rectangular face is 25, and the bore for the camshaft is 18mm. On my Type A (= Dickson S2) the bores in the main block are 17mm, the reduced eccentric neck is 14mm dia, and the eccentricity is 1mm There is nothing required by way of retention other than what's shown here: to remove the camshaft, you just push on the face of the plunger to compress the springs and centre the hole in the plunger about the camshaft, and pull the latter up through it and out the top of the block. On my Rapide, the 'disk' is rectangular (which is functionally preferable) If 40 positions is good enough for Multifix, 32 should be enough for me. While I'm at it, I might conceivably provide another somewhere at a multiple of 11.25 degrees. In view of this, I might spark erode a second hole in the toolpost at 22.5 degrees on the identical PCD, so I have sixteen rather than just eight location options. Now I can use this 'optional feature' (which is what software developers call a bug) due to distortion of the casting, as a way of locking the compound when I want it to stay put for an operation where I might encounter chatter. This is nice because, like most compounds, mine becomes perceptibly tighter if I really bear down to clamp the toolpost. It also means the toolpost (for which I've modified a Dickson parting blade holder to take a modern carbide parting system - makes for minimum overhang) lines up dead perpendicular for parting.Ī fringe benefit is that I don't have to swing hard on the clamping bolt for the toolpost because the pin prevents slewing. The pins still make a satisfying 'pop' every time I pull them. I made up a double ended tool solid-bodied tool, with a spade drill at one end and a D-bit at the other to open out and then line-ream the holes in the hardened and tempered bushes (I used silver steel/drill rod for the cutting tool, hardened but not tempered and used with care- worked a treat). I also provided it with eight hardened and lapped bushes in the compound slide accurately positioned for the (provided) hardened locator pin with the knurled top, so the toolpost lines up parallel to the spindle when I use the Morse Taper holders for drilling under power feed - particularly good for stainless, manganese steel, and high-nickel non-ferrous alloys where the slightest dwell can spell death to the edge. I have seen Tipo B (or A) on several Rapids (on the more recent ones it's etched, not stamped and I think on at least one Rapidue. I only have the Rapide - I don't recall it having Tipo A stamped on it (I've ground and machined it on several faces to suit my situation).
